Access statistics

Country and operator distribution of the clients querying this time server. Produced once a day from the server's own client table; no individual IP address is stored.

Privacy. Every number on this page is aggregated. The individual IP addresses of NTP clients are never written to disk, stored or published; only per-country and per-operator counts are produced. Geographic mapping is done on this server itself, against a local database — no query is sent to any external service.

The web server, like every website, keeps a standard access log. Those records stay on this server only; they are not published, not shared with third parties, and not used in the statistics on this page.

Where these numbers come from

The time server keeps an in-memory record for every client that queries it. Once a day that table is read from end to end, the counts are aggregated, and the summary published on this page is produced. The table itself is never written to disk: the read is streamed through a pipeline and when the process finishes only the totals remain.

Mapping IP addresses to countries and operators is done on this server, against locally held databases. No query is sent to any external service, so the addresses of the clients querying this server never reach a third party.

How to read the numbers

TermWhat it countsCaveat
Clienta unique IP address On residential connections the address changes, so this is not the same as the number of real devices.
Distinct networkan IPv4 /24 or IPv6 /48 prefix Unaffected by a single address changing; represents the number of independent networks more robustly than the client count.
Autonomous systema network running its own routing policy In practice an operator or a large institution. Shows how many distinct networks reach us.
Packets servedanswered NTP requests Requests refused by the rate limiter are not included in this figure.
